DEFINITION, OBJECTIVE, PRINCIPAL

To know about the origin, definition, purpose, principles and methods of Scouting / Guiding in brief.

 ◆ DEFINITION

The Bharat Scouts and Guides isa voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young men/girls that is equally open to all irrespective of race, caste or religion, and aims, principles and principles laid down by Lord Baden Powell in 1907.  is based on methods.

 ◆ OBJECTIVE

 The aim of the Scout/Guide movement is to help youth in their physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual development and make them responsible citizens of the local, national and international community.

 ◆ PRINCIPLE

 The Scout/Guide Movement is based on the following three principles:-

 1- Duty to God:-

 Worship God according to your religion and behave accordingly.  To take care of God's given nature and be helpful in its progress.

 2- Duties to others:-

 To do one's duty towards family, neighborhood, society and country i.e. to work for local, national and international peace, to work with understanding and cooperation, to help in social progress by instilling a sense of respect and trust towards the people.

 3- Duty to self:-

 To develop one's own physical, intellectual, social and economic, to improve knowledge, skills and social relations.  Fulfilling your responsibility towards your family.

◆ METHODS :-

Scout/Guide education is a discipline whose example is not found elsewhere.  It is a progressive self-education whose methods are as follows:-

 1- Learning by doing

 2- Scout/Guide Pledge and Rules

 3- Working in small groups ie following the team method.

 4. Variety of Programs
