PRESIDENT AWARD

The Bharat Scouts & Guides Logbook

i. The President of the Union of India has great pleasure in conferring this Authorized Special Certificate on a Scout who has received this Rashtrapati Award while serving at least 12 months as a Rajya Puruskar Scout.

ii. The Advanced Trained Scout Master will inform the National Headquarters through proper channel by filling up the registration form available at the State Headquarters or the website of Bharat Scouts and Guides that the Rajya Puraskar Scouts are fulfilling all the requirements for the President's Scout Award. The Scout will submit the record of his achievements for the Rashtrapati Scout Award to the Regional Headquarters through proper channel by filling the above mentioned form. In the absence of the Scout Master, the Assistant Scout Master who is advanced trained will be able to make recommendations.

iii. The Rashtrapati Scout Award certificates are presented by the President of India at a ceremonial ceremony at the request of the Chief National Commissioner.

iv. The President's Scout Badge is worn with the qualifying badges of the President's Award on the left arm sleeve, below the shoulder strips and above the State Award badge.

v. The Chief National Commissioner issues guidelines from time to time in respect of badges, tests, etc. and ensures the standards of skill involved.

vi. The Scout Master or Assistant Scout Master can only recommend 25% of the total number of Scouts (not more than 32) of the unit in a year for the President's Award. Special cases can be recommended by the District Chief Commissioner and by the State Chief Commissioner up to a maximum of 50% in a year.

vii. The Rajya Puraskar Scout, who has fulfilled all the requirements and conditions for the Rashtrapati Scout Award check camp, is screened at the state level and certified by the state union commissioner before participating in the Rashtrapati Scout Award screening camp. Rashtrapati Scout Award Checkup Camp is organized by the National Association under the supervision of Assistant Director.

President's Scout Award Test

1. Be able to hold the Rajya Puraskar Scout Award and maintain its standards

2.  Camping:
a. Camping in the open for three consecutive nights with your troop or patrol. Meetings like Jamboree rally etc. will not be included in this.
b. To build a shelter or hut or scaffold for two people with the help of natural resources available with immediate effect.

3.
a. Should have held the Disaster Management Badge
b. Re-passing the Ambulance Man Badge

4.  To obtain any two of the following proficiency badges not previously earned:
i. AIDS Awareness
ii. Handyman
iii. Fireman
iv. Pathfinder
v. Sea Fisherman
vi. Hiker
vii. World Conservation
viii. Interpreter
ix. Farmer
x  Free Being Me)
xi. Solar Energy Awareness
xii. Event Manager
xiii. Self Defense
xiv. Backwoodsman

5.  Participate in a sustainable community development project for at least 2 hours a week for six months on any two of the following topics:
a. Promoting gender equality and women empowerment
b. Reducing child mortality
c. Improving maternal health
d. Coping with and dealing with HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases
e. Ensuring Environmental Sustainability

6. Acting as the Troop's Badge Trainer in Your Neighborhood

Teaching the game to young children for 15 days

 7. To keep information about Kanderstag Adventure Center of WOSM (World Organization of the Scout Movement) Switzerland and maintain a log book of it

8. To be aware of WOSM website and to know about Asia Pacific region

9. Less Service as Rajya Puraskar Scout for at least 12 months


Note:-
1) Rashtrapati Scout Award is given by the President of India.

2) This award is given by the President of India on the recommendation of the Chief National Commissioner and can be withdrawn by the Chief National Commissioner in compelling circumstances.
