Eagle Scout Merit Badge
The Eagle Scout rank is the highest achievement attainable in the Boy Scouts of America program. To earn this rank, a Scout must demonstrate proficiency in leadership, service, and outdoor skills. There are 21 merit badges that must be earned to become an Eagle Scout, and each merit badge has its own set of requirements.
Here are the details for each of the required merit badges:1. First Aid -
Earn the First Aid merit badge, including the requirements for CPR.
2. Citizenship in the Community -
Attend a city or town council meeting, attend a court hearing, and learn about the services provided by a city or town.
3. Citizenship in the Nation-
Learn about the branches of the federal government, visit a national monument or historic site, and read the U.S. Constitution.
4. Citizenship in the World -
Learn about different cultures, attend a meeting of an international organization, and discuss current events with someone from another country.

5. Communication -
Prepare and deliver a speech, write a letter to the editor of a newspaper, and participate in a group discussion.
6. Cooking -
Plan and cook three meals a day for five days, including one meal cooked over an open fire.
7. Personal Fitness -
Track your physical activity for 12 weeks, set goals, and make changes to your lifestyle to improve your health.
8. Emergency Preparedness -
Develop an emergency preparedness plan for your home and community, and participate in a mock disaster drill.
9. Environmental Science -
Participate in an environmental project, learn about the importance of conservation, and discuss environmental issues with someone in your community.
10. Personal Management -
Set financial goals, create a budget, and track your expenses for 13 weeks.

11. Swimming or Cycling or Hiking -
Complete a 20-mile hike, a 50-mile bike ride, or a 1-mile swim.
12. Camping -
Camp for at least 20 nights, including six consecutive nights at a long-term camp.
13. Family Life -
Learn about family values, participate in family activities, and discuss family dynamics with someone in your community.
14. Lifesaving -
Learn about water rescue techniques, demonstrate rescue skills, and perform a mock rescue scenario.

In addition to earning these 21 merit badges, a Scout must also complete an Eagle Scout service project, which involves planning, fundraising, and executing a project that benefits the community. The project must be approved by the Scout's unit leader and the organization that will benefit from the project.
